The Daffodil Story
There is an enormous meadow in the San Bernardino Mountains that is filled with the beautiful flowers. People come from all over the country to view the breathtaking site. In the middle of these daffodils is a modest A-frame home with a sign out front that says, “Answers to the Questions I Know You Are Asking: 50,000 bulbs, one at a time, by one woman, two hands, two feet, and one brain. Began in 1958.”
This magnificent field of flowers didn’t happen overnight, and it wasn’t created by an army of gardeners. It was created one bulb at a time by one woman. Likewise, any of us can do almost anything, as long as we approach it one step at a time. As the Lord Himself declared, “And out of small thing proceedeth that which is great” (D&C 64:33-34).
Food storage is like the fields of daffodils; obtaining, storing and using food storage isn’t complicated. Just as the woman with the field of daffodils planted one bulb at a time, we can build our food storage one item at a time.
Remember – Don’t do everything – Just do SOMETHING!
